Background Information

Tanzania Employment Services Agency(TaESA) therefore, is an Executive Agency established on 1st July, 2008 by G.N. 189 of 2008 under the Executive Agencies Act. Cap 245 R.E. 2002 for the purpose of improving the delivery of public services, creating an environment conducive to efficient and effective management, and improving the quality of employment services which were provided by the then Ministry of Labour, Employment and Youth Development.

TaESA is under the Ministery  Labour and Employment and it was given mandate by the government to monitor, regulate, administer and coordinate all matters related to the provision of employment services in Tanzania Mainland.

 It is mandated by the Government to monitor, administer and coordinate all matters related to the provision of employment services in Tanzania Mainland.The Agency provides the following services; Placement both local and cross border, Labour Market Information and Consultancy. In this regard, TaESA has a very crucial obligation of contributing to the national socio-economic development through provision of quality employment services to its clients ultimately improve the standard of living and reduce income poverty of Tanzanians

The Agency aspires to work in collaboration with public and private institutions to ensure that development in both labour and employment sectors as stipulated in the National Five Year Development Plan 2016/17-2020/21, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty (NSGRP II),  CCM  Manifesto 2015-20 and National Employment Policy, 2008 (NEP)  are realized.
